Hyundai Motor India has introduced the Hyundai Exter facelift 2026 in the Indian market, with prices starting at Rs 5.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model brings over 25 enhancements across design, features, safety and technology. Design Updates

The new Exter facelift comes with a more refined and bold exterior. It features a wider front fascia, an updated radiator grille and redesigned front and rear bumpers. The SUV also gets new diamond cut alloy wheels along with a wing style spoiler that adds to its sporty appeal.

Hyundai claims that the Exter continues to be the tallest SUV in its segment and also offers the longest wheelbase, improving both cabin space and road presence. Additional updates include a revised C pillar, a new tailgate garnish and more prominent wheel arch cladding, giving it a stronger SUV stance.

Inside the cabin, the facelift introduces a dual tone navy and grey theme along with a 3D carbon finish dashboard. It also gets a flat bottom steering wheel, updated seat upholstery and a folding armrest for the driver.

Segment first features like metal pedals are also included. In terms of practicality, driver seat height adjustment and adjustable rear headrests are now standard across all variants. The petrol version offers a 391 litre boot, while the CNG version provides 225 litres of luggage space due to its dual cylinder setup.

Technology

On the technology front, the Exter facelift gets a built in dashcam, which is a first in its segment. It also offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay through an adapter, a rear Type C USB port and more than 60 Bluelink connected features.

Other highlights include support for over 300 voice commands, OTA updates for maps and infotainment, a digital instrument cluster and an electric sunroof.

Safety

Hyundai continues to offer six airbags and electronic stability control as standard. With the facelift, safety has been further enhanced. The SUV now comes with over 45 safety features, with nearly 30 of them being standard across all variants.

Powertrain

There are no major changes in the engine lineup. The Exter facelift continues with the 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine that produces 83PS of power and 114Nm of torque. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT, depending on the variant.

The Hy CNG Duo variant is also available, producing 69PS of power and 95Nm of torque. It comes with a dual cylinder setup and an underbody spare tyre, improving practicality and boot space usability.
