BMW is all set to officially launch its highly anticipated adventure motorcycle, the BMW F 450 GS, in India today. This middleweight ADV is being seen as a strong new entrant in the segment. One of the biggest highlights is that the bike will be manufactured locally in India by TVS Motor Company at its Hosur facility, which has already created a lot of excitement among Indian buyers.

Meanwhile, the top spec GS Trophy variant may reach an on road price of around ₹6.5 lakh to ₹7 lakh. This variant is expected to offer premium features like tubeless wire-spoke wheels and Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), which enhance both long distance touring and off-road usability.

If the pricing feels a bit on the higher side, there’s likely a strategy behind it. In terms of performance, the BMW F 450 GS is powered by a 420cc parallel twin, liquid cooled engine that produces 48bhp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm of torque at 6,750rpm. It features a unique 135-degree crank, giving it a distinct character and engaging riding feel. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and comes equipped with a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quick shifter as standard an advantage in this segment.

The hardware setup also looks quite capable. The bike rides on a 19 inch front and 17 inch rear wheel combination wrapped in dual purpose tyres, making it suitable for both city riding and light off roading.
