New Lexus ES India Launch 2026, Price ₹89.99 Lakh, Strong Features, Specs

Japanese automaker Lexus revealed the next-generation Lexus ES globally in April 2025. Now, the luxury sedan is all set to launch in India. In its 8th generation, the new Lexus ES comes with a fresh design, updated interior and several new features. This time, its expected price is around ₹89.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will directly compete with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series LWB and Audi A6. Let’s take a simple look at everything we know so far.

Powertrain

Talking about the powertrain, the Lexus ES is offered globally with both hybrid and electric options. In India, the hybrid version is expected to be the main offering, while the EV version is not confirmed yet.

The ES 300h comes with a 2.0-litre (197hp) and a 2.5-litre (201hp) petrol-hybrid engine option. The ES 350h gets a 2.5-litre engine producing 247hp. All hybrid variants are paired with an e-CVT gearbox and are available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive options.

The electric versions include the ES 350e and 550e. The 350e gets a 77kWh battery with a 224hp motor, while the 550e comes with a dual motor setup producing 343hp. The claimed range is quite impressive, up to 685km for the 350e and 610km for the 550e.

Design

The new Lexus ES features a clean and modern design. At the front, it gets L-shaped DRLs and Z-pattern indicators. The headlamps are positioned slightly lower, giving it a sporty and sharp look.

The traditional spindle grille has been replaced with a smoother front design along with a smaller air intake. Sharp bonnet lines and air channels on the bumper add to its bold styling.

From the side, the sedan looks sleek with a strong shoulder line, flush door handles and new alloy wheels. The sloping roofline gives it a coupe-like feel and also helps with better aerodynamics.

At the rear, a full-width LED light bar with illuminated ‘LEXUS’ lettering stands out, along with a sharper boot design and L-shaped reflectors.

In terms of size, the new ES has grown significantly. It now measures 5,140mm in length, 1,920mm in width and around 1,555 to 1,560mm in height. This makes it 165mm longer, 55mm wider and up to 115mm taller than before. The wheelbase has also increased by 80mm to 2,950mm, which should improve cabin space, especially for rear passengers.

Interior and Features

Inside, the Lexus ES offers a clean and premium cabin with a focus on digital controls instead of too many physical buttons.

It comes with a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen that supports over-the-air updates, along with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a head-up display.

The seats are highly comfortable, with front seats offering memory, heating and ventilation. Rear seats feel more luxurious with reclining, ottoman and even massage functions as an option.

In terms of features, it includes wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, ambient lighting, a Mark Levinson sound system and a glass roof. Other highlights include wireless charging, multi-zone climate control and ADAS safety features.
